*We would like to welcome everyone back after the Easter break and wish everyone well for the final term in this school year.
*We would like to remind everyone about the importance of good attendance for the children. If your child is absent for more than 20 days in the school year, we are obliged to contact TUSLA.
*The Board of management meet this Tuesday at 8.30pm.
*Please note that school will be closed on Tuesday May 7th to facilitate in-service training in the New Primary Curriculum.
*Please note that school car parks are strictly for staff only. Parents are not permitted to park in or drop children in school car parks for safety reasons.
*All classes from 1st to 6th will complete standardised tests in both English and Maths during the week of May 11th -15th.
*Confirmation will take place on Friday May 15th at 11am in St. Nicholas of Myra Church. The school will close at 12 for all other children to facilitate refreshments for Confirmation children and their families.
*The confirmation retreat takes place this Friday for 6th class. They will travel to the Dominican retreat centre in Tallaght. The cost of this is €25 and was included as part of the school charges. This cost also includes the hire of the alb for confirmation.
*1st Penance is on Tuesday May 19th at 7pm. First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday June 13th at 11am.
*Our boys’ and girls’ soccer teams are due to travel to Greystones this Thursday for the FAI 5 a side tournament. Please contact the school office if you are available to drive.
*Our senior boys have training on Tuesday after school ending at 3.45. Our Senior Boys’ football team play Kilmeague next week. Day and time to be confirmed.
*Our girls’ senior football team are due to play Allenwood in Dunlavin next week. Day and time to be confirmed.
*U 10 football training takes place after school on Monday ending at 3.45. Our U10 footballers are due to have a match against Crookstown in Crookstown next week.
*Our 5th and 6th girls’ team will play in a football blitz in Hollywood this Thursday at 11am. We will leave the school at 10.30 and would be grateful if anyone available to drive would contact the school office.
*Children from 1st, 3rd and 5th classes will start lessons from the Stay Safe Programme on May 5th.
* Swimming will start on Wednesday April 15th for Solas Senior, 2nd and 3rd classes. The cost is €60 for the six weeks and must be paid to the class teacher before lessons start. Children are asked to bring goggles and armbands unless they are very competent swimmers.
