*All classes from 1st to 6th will complete standardised tests in both English and Maths during the week of May 11th -15th.

*Please note that if your child does not want the hot school meal or is going to be absent you need to ring Fresh Today to cancel the order. They will probably ask for the roll number which is 17810G.

*School will be closed next Monday for the Bank Holiday and on Thursday May 7th for in-service training for staff.

*The Parents’ Association meet this Tuesday at 8pm in Scoil Niocláis Naofa.

*Please note that as the weather gets better children can wear shorts. However these must be grey uniform shorts or navy tracksuit shorts on PE days. GAA/Soccer or bicycle shorts are not permitted in any colour. Shorts can be bought from Keadeen Knitwear in Baltinglass, Kidstuff Newbridge or Dunnes/Tesco etc.

*6th class will hold a bake and jumble sale this Tuesday during the school day. All classes will get an opportunity to attend. All items will be priced between 50c and €2. Children can bring money to school with them if they wish to buy something.

*Lisa Carroll will start a 6 week self- esteem and alcohol and drug awareness programme with 6th Class next Tuesday May 5th. This has been very successful in previous years and is good preparation for transitioning to secondary school.

*Confirmation will take place on Friday May 15th at 11am in St. Nicholas of Myra Church. The school will close at 12 for all other children to facilitate refreshments for Confirmation children and their families.

*Our senior boys will play Ballyshannon NS this Tuesday in Suncroft GAA Club at 11.30. Please contact the school office if you are available to drive, leaving at 10.50.

*Our girls’ football team are due to have a game this Tuesday V Allenwood in Allenwood, at 11.15. Please contact the office if you are available to drive, leaving at 10.15.

*Our U10 boys’ football team play Kilashee this Thursday in Two Mile House GAA pitch at 11.00. Please contact the school office if you are available to drive, leaving at 10.30.

* Date for the diary……5th and 6th classes will perform ‘Aladdin The Musical’ in the Imaal Hall on May 27th. Details re time etc. to follow.

*There is camogie training this Monday for senior girls. Training will take place during the school day so girls will be finished at normal time.

*Children from 1st, 3rd and 5th classes will start lessons from the Stay Safe Programme on May 5th.

* Swimming continues this week for Solas Senior, 2nd and 3rd classes. Children are asked to bring goggles and armbands if they need them.

*Congratulations to Conor McClelland (3rd Class) who finished second in the U12 (37kg) All Ireland Kickboxing championships last weekend. He now qualifies to represent Ireland at the Bristol International Open Championships and the World Championships in Jesolo Italy in September. Well done to him.

Dunlavin GAA will get back up and going with their juvenile hurling on Tuesday evening. This is for children aged 4-7years. We have plenty of hurls and helmets if needed. See everyone at 6.30pm on Tuesday evening in the GAA grounds.
