NEWSLETTER – Monday 8th June 2026
· This week will be an active week in our school with children taking part in various activities. As part of this our Sports Day will take place this Tuesday.
· First Holy Communion takes place this Saturday June 13th in St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 11am. We hope everyone has a very enjoyable day. Everyone is invited back to Scoil Niocláis Naofa for refreshments afterwards. Thanks to Karen Raleigh for preparing the children. Thanks also to Sinead Keogh, Rob O’ Neill and Ciara Flood for preparing the choir.
· As is tradition we would ask children in first class to bring in some items for refreshments after the First Holy Communion. A note will be issued to each child in 1st class with suggestions as to what to bring in. These can be dropped to the school anytime on Friday or Saturday morning.
· Well done to the boys and girls from 5th and 6th classes on their production of Aladdin in the Imaal Hall. Thanks to Ciara Moran, Sinead Keogh and Shannon Ransome for all their hard work.
· Well done to our Senior boys’ football team that won their final in the Kildare Cumann na mBunscoil Finals in Hawkfield. The boys were superb and should be very proud of themselves.
· A boys and a girls’ team took part in the Gemma Hanlon 7 a side tournament on Friday. The boy’s team were beaten in the final while the girls lost out at semi-final stage. Well done to all concerned.
· Well done to the girl’s camogie team that defeated Scoil Mhuire Ballymany in their play off last week. They play Broadford this Friday in Dunlavin in the semi-final.
· We have our Junior Infant welcome meeting next Tuesday June 16th at 1.50pm.
· School reports will be sent home with the children this Friday.
· A graduation Mass for 6th class will take place on Tuesday 16th June at 8p.m. and 6th class will be clapped out on Wednesday 17th June at 2.40 on their last day before their school tour.
· We are currently organising music lessons for next year. If anyone new is interested, please contact the school office on 045-401495. Instruments offered are piano and guitar.
· This is water safety week and classes will be looking at water safety.
· Reminder if children are wearing shorts with their uniform they should be grey in classes 1st-6th and navy on PE days and navy in Junior and Senior Infants. They are available from Kidstuff, Courtyard shopping centre, Newbridge, Keadeen knitwear Baltinglass or from Dunnes/Penny’s etc.. We will organise a uniform swap on Wednesday 24th June.
