NEWSLETTER – Monday 2nd March 2026

· Our 5th and 6th class boys and girls will take part in a football blitz in Donard this Friday at 10.45am. We will leave the school at 10.15am. Please let Christine know in the office on 045-401495 if you are available to drive. The blitz will be over at 12.30.

· The PA are holding a table quiz this Thursday night in The Fox in the Bunditch at 8pm. Tables of 4 can be reserved by contacting Christine in the school office on 045-401495. Cost per table is €40. Raffle tickets may also be purchased from the school office. Cost of tickets is €5 per strip or €10 for 3 strips. Any donations of spot prizes for the raffle would be gratefully accepted.

· Some children from 3rd and 4th class will take part in an indoor hurling blitz this Thursday in Aughrim.

· Football training for boys from 4th, 5th and 6th classes takes place each Tuesday. Training for girls in 4th, 5th and 6th starts this Thursday. Training ends at 3.45.

· Please note there will be no hurling training this Wednesday after school as there is a staff meeting.

· We would ask all parents to talk to their children in relation to crossing the road at the traffic lights.

· There are a small number of families with outstanding school charges. These charges cover items such as drama, basketball, personal accident insurance, art and craft materials etc. We would appeal to families to pay the outstanding amount as these are real charges that have to be covered. If you have any difficulty paying, please contact Michael in confidence.

· Reminder that the school will be closed on Tuesday March 10th for Curriculum Inservice for staff.

· Could we remind everyone that dog walking is not allowed on the school grounds at any time in the interest of health and safety for our children.

· World book day is on the 5th March. All children should have received vouchers towards the purchase of a book.

· Children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes will complete NNRIT tests (Non reading Intelligence tests) this week.
