*Confirmation takes place this Friday May 15th in St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 11am. We hope everyone enjoys the day. The parents association will serve refreshments in the school after the ceremony and the confirmation children and their families are invited back afterwards.
*School will finish at 12 this Friday to facilitate the serving of refreshments after Confirmation. School will finish at 11.30 for those in Solas to allow the area be organised for refreshments.
*Children in 5th class are asked to bring in some refreshments for Confirmation on Thursday evening May 14th and Friday morning. A note was issued to each child last Friday with what to bring in.
*First Communion will take place on Saturday June 13th and First Penance takes place on Tuesday May 19th.
*Date for the diary….Meeting for new Junior Infants and their parents will take place on Tuesday June 16th at 1.50pm.
*Reminder that once a child is absent from school for any reason for more than 20days the school is legally obliged to notify TUSLA. Once your child has reached this number you will be notified.
*All classes from 1st to 5th will carry out standardised tests in English and Maths this week.
*Our senior boy’s football team had a great win over Nurney last Tuesday and are awaiting word on a semi-final or playoff.
*Our senior girls’ team lost out narrowly to Milltown after a great game.
*Swimming continues this Wednesday for children in 2nd and 3rd classes and Solas Senior.
*We plan to begin using Aladdin connect next year. This will allow greater communication between home and school. A letter will be issued to each family in relation to this after the June week off.
*5th and 6th Classes will perform the musical Aladdin in the Imaal hall on Wednesday May 27th. Details regarding times and tickets will be issued next week.
*Reminder that if children no longer want to order school meals or are absent, you need to phone Fresh Today directly to cancel the order.
