*Confirmation takes place this Friday in St. Nicholas of Myra Church at 11am. We hope everyone enjoys the day. The parents association will serve refreshments in the school after the ceremony and the confirmation children and their families are invited back afterwards.
*Children in 5th class are asked to bring in some refreshments for Confirmation on Thursday evening and Friday morning. A note was issued to each child on Friday.
*Please note that the school will close for children on Friday next May 9th at 12 o’clock to facilitate refreshments after Confirmation. Solas will close at 11.30.
*There will be an official opening/launch of the Safe Routes to School project on Tuesday June 10th. More details to follow in coming weeks.
*Our senior boy’s football team defeated Ballyshannon in the Kildare league last Tuesday. They play their final group game this Tuesday in Nurney at 1.15. Please contact the school office on Tuesday morning if you are able to drive. We will leave the school at 12.30
*Our senior girls’ team play Milltown in Milltown on Tuesday also at 1pm. Again we need drivers, so please contact the office if you are available to drive. We will leave the school at 11.45.
*Our U10 boys’ team had a great win against Ballycane on Thursday last. They have no game this week but will play Two Mile House on Thursday 15th in Twomilehouse at 1pm.
*First Holy Communion takes place on Saturday 31st May at 11am.
*Swimming continues this Wednesday for children in 2nd and 3rd classes and Solas Senior.
* The Parents Association are holding a meeting this Tuesday at 7.30pm in the school. All are welcome.
*Kidstuff (one of our uniform suppliers) are currently holding a sale of 15% off all pre-ordered tracksuits and jumpers for the 2025/26 school year. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
